Students should not arrive at school prior to 8 a.m. as teachers do not begin to supervise until this time.

Please note if your child is late arriving at school, please check into the office to sign in. If your child is going to be absent, please call our safe arrival line (1-833-202-4304)

If you pick up your child early, please visit the office and sign your child out.

At the end of the day, if you are picking up your child, please wait in our school lobby until the dismissal bell rings.

Code of Conduct

Within the Community of School, students are expected to be actively involved in their academic and social development. Each student will:

• Do his/her highest quality work.

• Be courteous and respectful of people and property.

• Take direction from the school staff.

• Complete homework assignments.

• Return school related items (notes, monies, forms, borrowed books, etc.) on time.

• Be punctual and attend as required.

• Not mistreat others. Mistreatment will be reported immediately

• Be truthful.

• Use appropriate language.

• Dress appropriately (see below).

Important information to keep in mind while you are at school:

• Audio-visual devices are to be left at home. Students are responsible for their own possessions and items of value should be kept with their belongings. The school will not be responsible for any lost or stolen items.

• Toys are to be left at home. It has been found that when toys are brought to school they are often a cause of distraction and difficulty.

• Students are not permitted to bring recreational devices with wheels onto the school property. The exception to this is a bicycle. Bicycles must be walked onto the school property and locked up immediately. Students are not permitted to drive their bikes on school property during the school day. It is NB law that bicycle helmets be worn. Schools will not be responsible for lost or stolen items.

• Hats are not to be worn in the school building.

• Appropriate clothing (at the discretion of the school) must be worn at all times. Clothing must be modest in nature and be respectful of self and others. Students who wear clothing which promotes inappropriate subject matter for schools will be asked to change or turn the items inside out while he/she is on school property.

Positive Learning and Working Environment Program

Approach to Discipline:

• School rules are visible and reviewed with students on a regular basis.

• Teachers are consistent when dealing with student behavior.

• Teacher practices are discussed at regular staff meetings.

• Teachers make regular home contact for both positive and negative behavior and are encouraged to keep accurate records.

• Referrals are made to Student Services, School Counselor and School Psychologists.
